The Basic Democracies Order 1959

Abstract

The order was promulgated on the 27th of October, 1959, after which work of framing Rules and Regulations was undertaken. The present includes the Order and the Rules, etc., so far framed and notified gazette. Some important correspondence and decisions have also been orated in a separate section. The Manual is not yet complete as the of, framing Rules and Standing Orders under several sections is still in the more important rules to enable local councils to transact there is having been taken up first. It is a pleasure to offer a revised Edition of “A Handbook o Democracies, Part I ” . Since the First Edition of thi§ Hand-book was put in October, i960, the Basic Democracies Order, 1959, has suffered a nu amendments, made both by the Central and the Provincial Governments, have been some consequential changes in the existing Rules. Some new have also been made under the amending provisions of the order. The been revised and expanded to include the amendments in the order Rules as well as new Rules framed up to February, 1964. Hi The Basic Democracies (Conduct of Election) Rules, 1959, are Ander. by the Government. So these Rules have been excluded from the Edition. The said Rules will be published separately in a booklet, wh have been dualized.
